Is Wholy Bible free?

Yes. Wholy Bible is completely free to download and use. There are no subscriptions, ads, or in-app purchases.

Do I need an account to read the Bible?

No. You can read the Bible, bookmark verses, highlight passages, and take notes without signing in. Creating an account is only required if you want to join community discussions or sync your reading progress across devices.

Where is my data stored?

Your bookmarks, highlights, notes, and reading progress are stored locally on your device by default. If you sign in, your community activity (discussions, follows) is stored securely in our database.

Can I read offline?

Yes. Once you have opened a chapter, it is cached for offline reading. The app also works fully offline after the first visit.

Which Bible translation is used?

The default text is the King James Version (KJV), presented in a clean, readable format optimized for mobile screens.

How do I track my reading progress?

The reading plan on the home page shows your daily assignment. Mark each day's reading complete to build a streak. Your progress is saved automatically.

Troubleshooting

App won't load offline
  1. Make sure you opened the app at least once while online
  2. Close and reopen the app
  3. Check that your device has storage space available
Lost my bookmarks / notes
  1. Bookmarks and notes are saved to this device only unless you are signed in
  2. If you cleared browser/app data, local notes may have been removed
  3. Sign in to back up your community activity in the future
Text looks too small / too large
  1. Go to Settings (gear icon) in the app
  2. Adjust the Reader font size slider
  3. Choose your preferred theme (light, sepia, or dark)
App crashes or freezes
  1. Force-close the app and reopen it
  2. Restart your device
  3. Make sure your iOS is updated to the latest version
