Our commitment
Wholy Bible is designed to respect your privacy. We collect as little data as possible, never sell your information, and give you full control over your personal content.
Data we collect
Account information (optional): If you choose to create an account, we store your email address and display name. This is required only for community features like discussions and verse sharing.
Community activity: Comments you post on verses, chapters you follow, and your public profile information are stored in our database so other users can see and respond to them.
Reading progress (local only): Your bookmarks, highlights, notes, and reading plan progress are stored locally on your device. We do not have access to this data unless you explicitly use a future sync feature.
How we use your data
- To provide core app functionality (reading, bookmarks, highlights, notes)
- To enable community discussions and social features (if you sign in)
- To send push notifications for daily verse reminders (only if you opt in)
- To improve app performance and fix bugs (anonymous usage statistics only)
Data sharing
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We may share data only in these limited circumstances:
- With service providers who help us operate the app (hosting, authentication) under strict confidentiality agreements
- When required by law or to protect our rights and safety

Wholy Bible uses local browser storage to save your preferences, bookmarks, and reading progress. These are stored on your device and are not transmitted to our servers. We do not use third-party tracking cookies or advertising cookies.

Data retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal information within 30 days, except where we are legally required to retain it. Local data on your device remains until you clear app storage or uninstall the app.
Children's privacy
Wholy Bible is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app or by email. The "Last updated" date at the bottom of this page indicates when the policy was last revised.
